Such a wonderful cookbook! The pictures and instructions are extremely helpful for this cook. We cook frequently and have many cookbooks but this one offers a great visual artistic element as well. You will enjoy it!

Delicious fail safe easy and gourmet

Format: Paperback

Oh my kitchen will never be the same! Every recipe in this book is outstanding. Last night I made the Thai Coconut Lime Curry and it was amazing. The instructions are good and even give you advice on which canned coconut milk brands taste best for ingredients. Other recipes I've tried in this book are equally delicious. Joanna and Mark Beaulieu have put together a treasure chest of recipes that will never fail to impress your palate.

I'd like to jump inside this book and eat my way through it

Format: Paperback

This morning I made Dutch Baby (p. 48,) and I've got my eye on Parisian Apple Tart (p. 54) for the next family gathering where I'm assigned dessert. With a variety of recipes from meats to noodle dishes to desserts and bread, this cookbook has it all. It's divided into four sections: Food Is Fuel, Food As Art, Food Makes Friends, and Food For More At The Door. It's peppered with stories (painter Ronald Alden kept himself going with whole bread bags filled with bologna sandwiches), personal observations ("prepare this dish when you need to cut back your rosemary bushes"), and color photographs of what the food looks like when it's cooked, as well as (p. 32) the beauty of a dirty pan before it's washed. The section on twelfth century dishes ("12th century pizza, anyone?"), includes a recipe for a divine-sounding, no-knead medieval potbread. I wish I had a houseful of people and boatload of time so I could try every recipe right now. Includes three indexes, so you can search for recipes by name, by main ingredient, or by national cuisine. Just--yum!
